10G Kitty Hawk: Transmitter*


Description:

Discovery’s optical 10 Gb/s transmitter generates on/off keyed (OOK) and differential phase-shift keyed (DPSK) signals. This stand-alone device includes a widely tunable laser, Mach-Zehnder modulators, driver amplifiers, and all the necessary control electronics. Options to include a cost-effective pattern generator are available. The transmitter allows users to choose between NRZ-OOK, RZ-OOK, NRZ-DPSK and RZ-DPSK. The transmitter supports data rates up to 12.5 Gb/s and provides a wavelength range of 1528-1567 nm.  It is a cost-effective match to Discovery’s Kitty Hawk Optical Coherent Receiver, which can detect 10 Gb/s OOK and DPSK.
