Discovery Semiconductors introduces a “plug and play” general purpose Wideband RF Amplifier from 40 GHz to 70 GHz for several emerging applications such as Short Haul / High Capacity Links, Wireless LANs, RF-over-Fiber, Antenna Remoting, mainly for applications in the unlicensed 60 GHz frequency band.
Discovery’s small footprint, turn-key RF amplifier gain block is powered from a single AC line supply, just like our popular Lab Buddy product line. The amplifier has low power dissipation, thus, no heat sink is required. Furthermore, it may be powered from a +9V DC battery for up to 10 hours.
Additionally, the key features include:
- Typical 20 dB Gain
- Noise Figure of 3.8 dB
- Output Power 1 dB Compression of +12 dBm
- Small Physical Size
